Rat Racks and Tubs for Breeding

Our space-saving rat breeding racks are strong, safe, dependable, and highly versatile.

Our rat racks also feature great ventilation, lightweight movement, and lock-in wheels for easy mobility.

In other words, we methodically design each feature to offer the best breeding experiences. And it shows, as our rat breeding racks are trusted by thousands of breeders around the world!

Versatile Racks for Breeding

In addition to rats and breeding mice, our customers use these racks for breeding gerbils, hedgehogs, and guinea pigs. Plus, assembling our rat racks is simple, and you can include any future adjustments or add-ons as your rat or rodent population grows.

We offer two types of rat breeding racks:

  1. Racks with one-piece stainless shelves
  2. Racks with tubs and individual stainless steel lids.

Each has its advantages, so let’s walk through the features and uses of each, and consider why you might want to choose one over the other.

Outline

Rat Breeding Racks with Shelves

We offer rat racks with a one-piece solid stainless steel shelf. This shelf acts as the lid for the tubs below, which can easily slide in and out of the rack.

Features of Rat Racks with Shelves

One-Piece Shelf

Vision Products rodent rack shelf

The one-piece shelf is the cornerstone of this design. We make the shelf from a thick sheet of stainless steel. This makes it much more durable than a wire mesh. Also, the hex pattern is punched out of the sheet and there are no welded seams or joints.

The hex pattern provides the most airflow without sacrificing any strength. Plus, this shelf will withstand years of use and food being dumped on it.

Rat Watering System

Rats and other rodents will chew on anything and everything you don’t want them to chew on. By adding a shielded water bottle hole to the lid, we’re able to block the rats from chewing on and damaging the water bottles.

With our design, you don’t have to worry about soggy bedding and wet rats. You also don’t have to buy a hard and/or fragile water bottle to prevent chewing. With our breeding system, you can use many standard water bottles for rats, so you can repurpose water, soda, or Gatorade bottles that you would’ve otherwise thrown out.

Getting rodent water bottles is only the first step. You’ll also want a bottle nozzle, a water bottle holder, and valve clips. Click any of the links below to learn about each component of our rat rack watering system:

Accessory Rail

The one-piece molded ABS plastic shelves that the tubs sit on have an accessory rail on all four sides. The accessory rail allows you to mount anything you need to the side of your rack. For example, our water bottle holder slides onto the rail and keeps it in place.

Speaking of water. We are developing a complete gravity-fed water system for our new rodent racks. However, until they are available to the public, you can get our water drinking valve clips that are compatible with the hex pattern shelves. The clips work with every rodent water system we have tested.

Locking Wheels

You put that rack where you wanted it, but now you need to get to that outlet behind it. Not a problem! You just unlock the front wheels and roll it out of the way.

Of course, if you want to reach through the rack to get to that outlet, we do offer adjustable-height feet. In all seriousness though, these can be beneficial if your rack is on an uneven surface.

Rust Resistant Materials

Nearly everything on the rack is made from stainless steel, ABS plastic, and galvanized steel. This means you can roll it out onto your driveway and hose it down.

It also means it will last for years of use.

Rat Breeding Racks with Tubs & Lids

We also offer a different take on rodent breeding racks with our rodent lids. All the rodent breeding tubs in the rack has a one-piece, stamped stainless steel lid.

One-Piece Lid

Like the shelf, we make our rodent lids from a single piece of thick stainless steel. They are durable and rust-proof. Unlike a wire lid, they won’t easily bend. You also don’t have to worry about wires breaking loose, creating gaps in the lid.

Another advantage of our rodent lid over a traditional wire lid is that it creates a better seal with the top of the tub so that your rats don’t escape.

Features of the One-Piece Lid

There is some overlap with the features of the one-piece shelf racks, but we will go through the features and make some comparisons along the way.

Ample Airflow

Rats like other rodents tend to give off a lot of heat. So, we ensure that our shelves are far enough apart to allow plenty of air movement.

The lids themselves also improve ventilation with the hex pattern. This design provides more strength and airflow than any other pattern.

Built-in Food Trough

Our lids have a built-in food trough that keeps the food from getting scattered and makes it easily accessible to the rats.

Shielded Water Bottle Hole

Just like our shelves, the water bottle hole is surrounded by stainless steel to prevent your water bottle from getting chewed on.

Locking Wheels

Don’t worry about your rack being stuck in one place once it is set up. Our racks come standard with locking casters that allow you to get at those outlets or move the rack for cleaning or any other reason.

Rust-Resistant Materials

We make this rack entirely from rust-resistant materials like ABS plastic, stainless steel, and galvanized steel. You can clean it with your garden hose for years and it will not rust or corrode.

Shop Rodent Lid Racks

Our rat breeding racks come with V-35 tubs and come in four different heights. Each tray can hold two tubs.

Below we have listed our rat breeding racks, which come with tubs and lids. Our quality tubs provide your rats and other rodents with plenty of room and keep them protected using our lids.

We make our Vision lids with a single piece of stainless steel. This makes them stronger and more durable than any product on the market!
