How much assembly is required for a breeding rack (Versa-Rack)?

A Versa-Rack can be assembled by one or two people quickly and easily. The only tool needed is a small wrench to tighten the tightening bolts. The videos below will show you the process:

Are heat cables included with a snake-breeding rack (Versa-Rack)?

Yes. One or two 52-foot heat cables are included with every Versa-Rack, enough to supply each shelf with heat under one end of the tub. Additional heat cables are available for purchase.

Can I use plastic bins I buy at a discount store on a breeding rack?

The Versa-Rack Sterilite® series of breeding racks are designed to fit some of the most common Sterilite® plastic bins that are sold through many discount retailers. Vision Tubs are stronger and more durable than Sterilite® bins.

Will any the bottom feet of any cage fit the top grooves of any other cage?

No. The Vision Cages are designed to stack on top of each other, but the wide variety of shapes and sizes available make it impossible for all cages to fit together. The closer the cages are in size, the more likely that they will stack together. If you are looking for a new cage to fit on top of another, as a customer service representative if they will fit together before making your purchase.

I am concerned that my snake will get tangled in the heat cable above it, and it seems like there is a lot of space above the lip of the tub for the snake to escape through. Why is the rack built this way?

It sounds like you may have installed the Versa-Rack shelves upside down. The flat surface of the shelf should be over (and touching) the top edge of the tubs. The side of the shelf with the heat cable should be under the tubs.
